Volunteer
The CNRCS requires volunteers to sit on committees to support the CNRCS efforts. Individuals with experience and knowledge in the following areas would add tremendous value to the Proposal Team:
- Fundraising expertise in areas such as grant applications, corporate sponsorship/donations and operating fundraising events;
- Working with philanthropists;
- Structuring governance models for non-for-profit organizations;
- Recruiting and managing volunteer teams;
- Marketing, communications, PR;
- Construction management, architecture and engineering;
- Legal and accounting expertise; and
- Human resources.
Five committees carry out key activities for the CNRCS.
- Governance & Organizational Structure: Will recommend methods for structuring the Board of Directors and the actual management team for the CNRCS. This can include, but is not limited to required roles on the Board of Directors, key committees to support the project, management team roles, etc.
- Fundraising: Will recommend a plan to generate necessary funds to complement the City's allocation of $70 million to build and then operate the building.
- Communications: Will plan and execute all marketing communication activity (e.g. community relations management, web site content updating, coordinating printing of brochures, compose articles for community newsletters) to keep the public updated on the project. The committee will also develop a volunteer engagement strategy to recruit volunteer teams throughout the design, development and eventual operations for the future facility.
- Design: Will assess the Needs and Preferences study and support the creation of a business case (which will include a preliminary financial model) and assist in the creation of an Expression of Interest that will guide the selection of operators for the future facility.
- Partnerships & Stakeholders: Will identify all key project stakeholders (e.g., sporting associations, community groups, senior's groups, etc.) that will provide input for the project. The committee will also determine suitable partners on the project based on the features and services that will be included in the facility. If you are part of a group or association that would like to provide input on the project or are interested in pursuing a partnership, please email the CNRCS at cnrcs.stakeholder@gmail.com.
